This full-time position involves working directly with students, families, and school staff to provide social-emotional support, address behavioral concerns, and help students overe barriers to academic success. Key Responsibilities:

  • Social-Emotional Support: Provide one-on-one and group counseling to students to address social, emotional, and behavioral concerns that may be impacting their academic performance.
  • Crisis Intervention: Respond to crisis situations and offer immediate support and guidance to students and staff, including managing conflict resolution and providing de-escalation strategies.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with teachers, administrators, and parents to develop and implement interventions and strategies that address individual student needs and promote positive school behavior.
  • Behavioral Plans: Assist in the development and implementation of Behavior Intervention Plans (BIPs) to help students succeed in the classroom and school environment.
  • Family and munity Outreach: Act as a liaison between the school, students families, and munity services to ensure that students have access to the resources they need outside of school.
  • IEP and 504 Plan Participation: Collaborate with special education teams to help assess and address the social-emotional needs of students with Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) or 504 Plans.
  • Progress Monitoring: Maintain accurate records of student progress and provide regular updates to parents, teachers, and school staff.

Qualifications:

  • Masters degree in Social Work (MSW) or related field.
  • Valid California School Social Worker credential or eligibility to obtain it.
  • Experience working in a school setting, preferably with students in need of social-emotional or behavioral support.
  • Strong knowledge of crisis intervention techniques, counseling, and munity resource connections.
  • Excellent munication, collaboration, and organizational skills.
  • A mitment to fostering a supportive and inclusive environment for all students.
