Job Description: Speech-Language Pathologist

Location: Elmhurst, Illinois

Position: Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP)

Position Overview: The Elmhurst School District is seeking a dedicated and passionate Speech-Language Pathologist to join our team. The SLP will be responsible for assessing, diagnosing, and treating students with speech, language, and munication disorders. This role is essential in helping students improve their munication skills and succeed academically and socially.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct thorough assessments to identify speech and language disorders in students.
  • Develop and implement individualized treatment plans based on assessment results.
  • Provide direct therapy services to students in individual and group settings.
  • Collaborate with teachers, parents, and other school staff to support students' munication development.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of student assessments, therapy sessions, and progress.
  • Participate in IEP meetings to develop appropriate goals and interventions for students.
  • Provide training and support to teachers and staff on speech and language development strategies.

Qualifications:

  • Masters degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited institution.
  • Valid Illinois state license in Speech-Language Pathology.
  • Certificate of Clinical petence (CCC) from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA).
  • Illinois Professional Educator License (PEL) with a Speech-Language Pathologist endorsement (Teaching Endorsement: 154).
  • Previous experience in a school setting is preferred.
  • Strong munication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team.

Requirements:

  • Successful pletion of a background check and fingerprinting.
