As a Value-Based Coder you will play a crucial role in optimizing our healthcare delivery system. You will work closely with providers and office staff to identify opportunities for improved quality and risk adjustment coding performance. Your expertise will help us capture clinically appropriate risk adjusting conditions, ensuring accurate reimbursement and enhancing patient care.
Responsibilities:
Review patient medical records to identify, assess, and monitor coding opportunities for risk adjustment.
Ensure accurate and timely capture of diagnosis codes for chronic and major medical conditions.
Educate providers on clinical documentation best practices to support risk adjustment coding.
Develop educational materials and tools to improve provider documentation and Hierarchical Condition Category (HCC) coding.
Participate in network performance improvement initiatives.
Maintain confidentiality of patient health information.
Requirements:
Certified Professional Coder (CPC) or Certified Risk Coder (CRC) certification.
Advanced knowledge of CPT and ICD-10 coding.
2-3 years of experience in outpatient coding preferred.
Familiarity with CMS HCC Risk Adjustment coding and data validation requirements.
