Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide individualized or group support to students with special needs in their classroom setting.
  • Assist in implementing and following individualized education plans (IEPs) and instructional activities alongside the special education teacher.
  • Create a supportive and inclusive classroom environment.
  • Aid students with daily activities, including personal care, communication, and mobility.
  • Collaborate with teachers and other professionals to track student progress and adjust strategies as needed.
  • Maintain detailed records of student performance and behavior.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent; an associate's degree or higher in a relevant field is advantageous.
  • Previous experience working with individuals with special needs, ideally in an educational setting.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Patience, empathy, and a sincere commitment to fostering students academic and social development.
  • Ability to follow instructions and work effectively as part of a team.
  • Willingness to undergo a background check and meet additional requirements specified by the school or district.
