Maintenance and Engineering Supervisor

Note: You should have an understanding of basic engineering concepts. Electrical experience is a must. This position reports to the Plant Engineer and it has the opportunity and great potential to lead into a managerial position.

  • Work with maintenance management: Oversee the day-to-day operations of the maintenance department, including maintenance and repairs.

  • Facility inspection: Evaluate facilities to determine maintenance needs, and lead safety inspections.

  • Coordinate with manager all maintenance scheduling: Prepare weekly maintenance schedules and allocate staff and resources to each task.

  • Aid in the management to: Recruit, train, and supervise maintenance technicians, mechanics, and tradesmen.

  • Maintenance procedures: Develop maintenance procedures and schedules, and ensure compliance with company policies and procedures.

  • Budgeting: Assist with departmental budget estimates and costs of specific repair projects.

  • Recordkeeping: Ensure proper recordkeeping of repairs and maintenance.

  • Health and safety: Ensure compliance with all health and safety regulations.

  • Communication: Communicate information from senior management to maintenance staff.

  • Project coordination: Participate in the coordination of projects, such as renovations.

  • Inventory: Monitor inventory of materials and equipment.
