Full-Time Special Education Teacher

Location: Colorado Springs, CO

Setting: Aspire Learning Academy (D20s Separate School Program)

Grades: 6th 12th

Position: Full-Time Special Education Teacher

Overview: We are seeking a passionate and skilled Special Education Teacher to join our team. This full-time position is focused on providing individualized support and instruction to students in grades 6 through 12 who require special education services.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) tailored to the unique needs of students in grades 6-12.
  • Provide direct instruction and support to students with diverse learning needs in a specialized classroom setting.
  • Design and adapt curriculum and instructional materials to support student learning and progress.
  • Collaborate with other educators, specialists, and paraprofessionals to ensure prehensive support for students.
  • Monitor and assess student progress, making adjustments to instructional strategies as necessary.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of student progress, behavior, and attendance.
  • municate regularly with parents, guardians, and caregivers regarding student progress and needs.
  • Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings and contribute to the development of IEPs and transition plans.
  • Create a positive and inclusive classroom environment that promotes student engagement and achievement.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelors or Masters degree in Special Education or a related field.
  • Valid Colorado Teaching License with an endorsement in Special Education.
  • Experience working with secondary-aged students with diverse special education needs is preferred.
  • Strong skills in individualized instruction, behavior management, and collaboration.
  • Ability to create engaging and effective learning experiences tailored to students' needs.
  • Excellent munication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
