Sign Language Interpreter - Lisle, IL

  • Position Type: Full-Time

  • Grade Level: PreK-5th Grade
  • Hours: 7:45 AM - 3:15 PM

Details:
ProCare Therapy is seeking a dedicated and skilled Sign Language Interpreter for a full-time position at an elementary school in Lisle, IL. The interpreter will be part of a team serving the self-contained Deaf and Hard of Hearing (DHH) program, providing interpreting services for students in PreK through 5th grade. The role will involve interpreting for specials (gym, art, music, library) and therapy sessions, such as music therapy and pet therapy. Additionally, the interpreter will support non-signing service providers and assist with interpreting for Deaf staff members.

Requirements:

  • Proficient in American Sign Language (ASL)
  • Experience working as a sign language interpreter in an educational setting
  • Ability to interpret in various settings including specials and therapies
  • Must be able to work collaboratively with a team of interpreters
  • IL State Certification as a Sign Language Interpreter is preferred
