Job Description

Our company manufactures plastic parts for various products, including medical equipment. The Material Handler will receive all incoming materials and prepare products and other materials for shipment. This role involves writing up or checking necessary paperwork to ensure proper shipment and may also include checking incoming shipments for damages and counting as needed. The Material Handler must be comfortable driving a box truck to deliver products to a secondary building, located just 100 yards away. Additionally, the role includes training and certification on forklift operation, with operating a sit-down forklift to pull materials from the warehouse to production lines constituting about 30-40% of the job.

Responsibilities

• Receive all incoming materials and prepare products for shipment.
• Write up or check necessary paperwork to ensure proper shipment.
• Check incoming shipments for damages and count as needed.
• Drive a box truck to deliver products to a secondary building 100 yards away.
• Operate a sit-down forklift to pull materials from the warehouse to production lines (30-40% of the job).
• Maintain inventory using RF scanner and ERP systems.
• Handle packaging, order picking, and shipping tasks.

Essential Skills

• 6+ months of material handling experience in a plastics/molding company or 1+ year of shipping/inventory/order picking experience.
• Good math skills, measurements, and detail-oriented.
• Sit-down forklift operation preferred but not necessary.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Experience with material handling, inventory, RF scanner, ERP usage, packaging, order picking, and shipping.

Work Environment

This role is based in a medical and molding environment, which can be noisy, hot, and have a plastic smell due to the machinery. The position involves working on forklifts and in a warehouse stockroom environment, as well as occasionally in a regulated clean room. The dress code requires a white collar shirt, brown or black pants (no jeans), and brown or black shoes. The shift schedule is Monday to Friday from 2pm to 10:30pm.

The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $21.00
