Job Description: Speech-Language Pathologist

Location: Troy, Ohio

Position: Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP)

Position Summary: The Troy City School District is actively seeking a highly skilled and motivated Speech-Language Pathologist. The SLP will be responsible for evaluating, diagnosing, and treating students with speech, language, and communication disorders. This role is pivotal in supporting students to achieve their academic and social potential.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct comprehensive assessments to diagnose speech and language disorders in students.
  • Create and implement individualized therapy plans based on diagnostic results.
  • Deliver direct speech and language therapy services to students, both individually and in groups.
  • Collaborate with teachers, parents, and other school personnel to support students' communication needs.
  • Maintain detailed records of student evaluations, treatment plans, and progress.
  • Participate in IEP meetings, providing input on student goals and progress.
  • Educate and support school staff on strategies to foster speech and language development.

Qualifications:

  • Masters degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited program.
  • Valid Ohio state license in Speech-Language Pathology.
  • Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC) from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA).
  • Ohio Department of Education Pupil Services License for Speech-Language Pathologists.
  • Preferably, experience working in an educational setting.
  • Strong communication, organizational, and teamwork skills.

Requirements:

  • Successful completion of a background check and fingerprinting.
  • Adherence to state and federal regulations for special education.
