Robert Half is seeking a North Carolina barred attorney with family law, including juvenile law, experience to assist our client with an ongoing legal research initiative. 

 

 

Project information:

 

  • Start: December 2024
  • Duration: 3 months with possibility of extension
  • Pay: $40/hour
  • Location: Remote
  • Hours: 5-15 hours per week

 

 

Responsibilities include:


Our client is looking for a North Carolina family law attorney with at least 5 years’ experience to help draft, review, and revise practical guidance articles on family law topics, review and update affidavits, agreements, and other related family law documents and supplement existing documents with state-specific, “how-to” practical guidance based on state law, local custom, and legal practice experience.


 

Requirements:

  • Law degree from an accredited law school
  • Member, in good standing, of the North Carolina State Bar
  • 5+ years of experience as a practicing family law attorney, including juvenile law experience.
  • Substantive experience drafting affidavits, agreements, and other related family law documents. 
  • Excellent writing, editing, and legal research skills
  • Comfortable working in Microsoft Word with track changes and conducting online research
  • Effective written and oral communication skills
  • Ability to complete assigned projects by prescribed deadlines
  • Organized, self-motivated, detail-oriented, and able to manage tasks effectively

 

 

 

Candidates must have 5+ years of experience as a practicing family law attorney in North Carolina to be considered for this role.



 

• Possession of a Law Degree from an accredited law school.
• Demonstrated proficiency in conducting legal research using tools such as LexisNexis and Lexis.
• Proven experience in Family Law, with a strong understanding of related legal principles.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with specific experience in drafting affidavits and other legal documents.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Word, with the ability to create and modify templates as needed.
• Strong research skills, with a focus on accuracy and attention to detail.
• Experience in reviewing legal documents for accuracy and compliance with legal standards.
• Demonstrated ability to manage time effectively, as evidenced by previous use of "About Time" or similar time management tools.
• Proven experience in editing legal documents, ensuring clarity, accuracy, and adherence to legal style guides.
• Demonstrated ability to conduct tasks requiring conductivity, showing a clear understanding of the term's relevance in a legal context.
• Proven experience in photocopying and scanning documents, ensuring the accurate reproduction and distribution of legal documents.
• Must be admitted to practice law in the relevant jurisdiction.
