Job Description

As a Maintenance Mechanic, you will be responsible for ensuring a safe working environment by inspecting production equipment and plant facilities. You will perform immediate repairs on production equipment, execute preventative maintenance schedules, and troubleshoot issues. Your role will also involve maintaining accurate records of maintenance work performed, time tracking, and parts consumption. Additionally, you will help maintain general cleanliness and tidiness of work areas.

Responsibilities
  • Inspect production equipment and plant facilities to ensure a safe working environment.
  • Perform maintenance and repairs on production equipment as required.
  • Implement and execute preventative maintenance schedules.
  • Troubleshoot, perform breakdown repairs, and complete preventative and predictive maintenance.
  • Accurately complete work orders, track time, and report parts consumption.
  • Maintain general cleanliness and tidiness of work areas.
Essential Skills
  • 1-2 years of consistent job tenure experience.
  • 1-2 years of mechanical inclination work, which can be from an auto shop or vocational school.
  • 1-2 years of troubleshooting skills, such as diagnosing issues with machines or engines.
  • Experience working with 24vdc-480v electrical systems.
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics.
  • Basic troubleshooting and maintenance skills.
  • Experience with repair, welding, blueprint reading, and using hand tools.
  • Knowledge of electrical systems, diesel engines, forklifts, and heavy equipment.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
  • Welding and fabrication skills.
  • Forklift operation experience.
  • Self-starter and team player attitude.
  • Technical or other relevant training.

This position offers a sign-on bonus of $1,500. Health benefits (medical, dental, vision) start at the 1st of the month following the start date at very reasonable rates. Work Environment

The plant is well-lit and does not produce a distinct smell in most areas, though there may be a cement smell due to machines that produce and harden cement. The environment can be dusty and loud due to machinery, and employees must wear PPE at all times, including hard hats, glasses, and steel-toed boots. This role involves working in a classic blue-collar crew with a clear leadership structure. Candidates must be open to receiving instructions from different departments and able to handle direct communication without being sensitive to the tone, which is often loud due to the work environment.
