Exciting Opportunity: Full-Time Sign Language Interpreter for the 2024-25 School Year in Arlington Heights

The Northwest Suburban Special Education Organization is in search of a passionate Sign Language Interpreter to join our DHH Middle School team in Arlington Heights, IL, starting January 7, 2025. This position is a backfill role, supporting students while ensuring a seamless transition as the current interpreter departs on December 20, 2024.

As a full-time Sign Language Interpreter, youll work with students daily, facilitating clear communication and understanding while helping them reach their fullest potential. What Youll Do:
As our Sign Language Interpreter, your role will include:
- Providing interpreting services in classrooms, meetings, and school events to support student learning and engagement.
- Collaborating with teachers and staff to ensure effective communication for students who are deaf or hard of hearing.
- Adapting your interpreting style to meet each students unique needs while fostering a supportive and accessible learning environment.
Qualifications:
To be considered for this role, candidates must:
- Hold a degree in American Sign Language Interpreting, Deaf Studies, or a related field.
- Be licensed or certified as a Sign Language Interpreter.
- Pass fingerprinting and a drug screen to ensure student safety.
Compensation & Benefits:
- Highly competitive hourly rate of $34 to $40, based on experience.
