Position Overview: We are seeking a dynamic and compassionate School Psychologist to join our team. The School Psychologist will play a pivotal role in promoting the academic success and well-being of our diverse student body. We are looking for an empathetic professional who is passionate about providing personalized services and fostering a positive school climate.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct comprehensive psychological assessments to evaluate students' cognitive, academic, social, and emotional functioning.
- Collaborate with teachers, parents, and stakeholders to develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) and behavior intervention plans (BIPs) to support students with diverse needs.
- Provide counseling, crisis intervention, and social-emotional support to students experiencing academic, behavioral, or emotional challenges.
- Administer and interpret standardized assessments to identify learning disabilities, developmental delays, and other psychological factors impacting student learning and behavior.
- Support teachers in implementing evidence-based interventions and strategies to address the diverse learning needs of students in the classroom.
- Serve as a consultant and resource to school staff on topics related to positive behavior support, social-emotional learning, and mental health promotion.
- Collaborate with community agencies and service providers to coordinate support services and resources for students and families.
Qualifications:
- Master's or doctoral degree in School Psychology from an accredited program.
- Valid Illinois Professional Educator License (PEL) with a School Psychologist endorsement.
- National Certification as a School Psychologist (NCSP) preferred.
- Previous experience working as a School Psychologist in a school or educational setting preferred.
- Strong knowledge of psychological assessment tools, intervention strategies, and educational laws and regulations.
- Excellent interpersonal skills, including communication, collaboration, and problem-solving.
- Commitment to equity, diversity, and inclusion in education and mental health services.
