Soliant Education is seeking a dedicated School Social Worker to join our team in California. This position is open to both Licensed Clinical Social Workers (LCSW) and School Social Workers (SSW). Working with a middle school caseload, you will play a vital role in supporting students' emotional, social, and academic development. A Pupil Personnel Services (PPS) credential is not required for this position, making it a great opportunity for social workers looking to transition into an educational setting.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Student Support and Counseling: Provide individual and group counseling to middle school students to address social, emotional, and behavioral challenges that may impact their academic performance.
  • Crisis Intervention: Act as a first responder in crisis situations, providing immediate support to students, staff, and families. Develop and implement crisis intervention strategies to ensure student safety and well-being.
  • Collaboration with Educators: Work closely with teachers, administrators, and school staff to develop and implement strategies that support students' social-emotional growth and academic success.
  • Family Engagement: Serve as a liaison between the school, families, and munity resources. Assist families in accessing support services and help bridge gaps between the school and the home environment.
  • Behavioral Support Plans: Develop and implement behavior intervention plans (BIPs) for students in need, using evidence-based strategies to promote positive behaviors in the classroom.
  • Resource Connection: Connect students and their families with appropriate munity resources, such as mental health services, social services, and other support networks.
  • Data Collection and Progress Monitoring: Track student progress and outes through data collection, ensuring that interventions are effective and aligned with individual student goals.

Qualifications:

  • Education: Open to Licensed Clinical Social Workers (LCSW) or School Social Workers (SSW).
  • Experience working with middle school-aged students or in an educational setting is highly preferred.
  • Strong understanding of adolescent development, mental health issues, and social-emotional learning.
  • Excellent munication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.
