Job Title: School Counselor/Play Therapist (MAT Leave)
Location: Dallas, TX
Type: Part-Time, Contract
Duration: January 7, 2025 - March 4, 2025
Orientation: Weeks of December 2 and December 9, candidate selects two days (9:00 AM - 11:30 AM, Monday-Thursday)

Hours:

• 14 hours per week for individual sessions
• 2 hours per week for group sessions
• Group 1: 4 primary age children
• Group 2: 4 elementary age children

Job Description:
We are seeking a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) or Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) with play therapy experience to cover a maternity leave from January 7 to March 4, 2025. The counselor will provide individual and group sessions for children using play therapy techniques. The ideal candidate must have prior experience working with children and facilitating play therapy in a school setting.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide 14 hours of individual counseling sessions per week for primary and elementary age children.
• Facilitate 2 hours of group sessions per week, one for 4 primary age children and one for 4 elementary age children.
• Use play therapy techniques to support children's social, emotional, and behavioral needs.
• Collaborate with school staff to ensure a cohesive approach to student development.
• Participate in orientation on two selected days during the weeks of December 2 and December 9.

Qualifications:

• Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) or Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) (required).
• Experience with play therapy and working with children (required).
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to create a safe and supportive environment for students.
