Job Description

As a mechanic, you will troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair a variety of makes and models, including liquid propane, gas, and diesel engines, electric motors, transmissions, drive axles, differentials, hydraulic systems, brake systems, steering systems, electrical systems, and lifting systems. You will also follow company safety guidelines, perform planned maintenance services, conduct equipment inspections, record maintenance and repair work, and manage your work schedule effectively.

Responsibilities
  • Troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair various makes and models, including liquid propane, gas, and diesel engines, electric motors, transmissions, drive axles, differentials, hydraulic systems, brake systems, steering systems, electrical systems, and lifting systems.
  • Follow company safety guidelines, properly block up equipment for disassembly and remove components for repair and reinstallation.
  • Perform planned maintenance services on company and construction vehicles according to manufacturer's specifications.
  • Conduct equipment inspections to identify potential problems and safety concerns, and document findings.
  • Record maintenance and repair work, process paperwork promptly, and submit it in a timely manner.
  • Manage your time and work schedule efficiently.
  • Maintain customer service skills and uphold a professional image.
  • Ensure company vehicle cleanliness and safe operating condition, completing vehicle checklists as required.
  • Keep company tools and inventory secure and organized on company truck.
  • Participate in all safety and company-required meetings, maintaining a culture of safety.
Essential Skills
  • 3-5 years of mechanic experience, with auto mechanic experience being beneficial and applicable to a general mechanic role.
  • Strong mechanical and electrical aptitudes, with knowledge of electrical and electronic systems, internal combustion engines, and hydraulic systems.
  • Proficiency in verbal and written customer service communication.
  • Ability to safely operate lift trucks.

  • Flexibility and adaptability in a dynamic work environment.
  • Ability to work independently.

Work Environment

The work schedule is from 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM, Monday through Friday, with occasional the person and weekend work as needed. The position requires maintaining a clean and safe company vehicle, participating in safety meetings, and ensuring all tools and inventory are secure and organized.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Honolulu, Hawaii.
