We are seeking a skilled Injection Molding Process Technician to join our manufacturing team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for setting up, operating, and optimizing injection molding machines to ensure high-quality production of plastic parts. The technician will work closely with engineers and quality control teams to troubleshoot issues and implement process improvements.
Key Responsibilities:
Setup and Operation:
- Configure and set up injection molding machines according to specifications and production schedules.
- Monitor the injection molding process to ensure optimal performance and quality output.
Troubleshooting:
- Diagnose and resolve process and equipment issues to minimize downtime.
- Collaborate with maintenance staff to perform routine maintenance and repairs on machinery.
- Process Optimization:
- Analyze production data and implement improvements to enhance efficiency and reduce waste.
- Adjust machine parameters and tooling to optimize cycle times and part quality.
Quality Assurance:
- Conduct regular inspections of parts and processes to ensure compliance with quality standards.
- Document findings and maintain accurate records of production metrics, machine performance, and quality checks.
Collaboration:
- Work closely with engineering and quality teams to develop and refine molding processes.
- Participate in training and mentoring of new technicians and operators.
Safety and Compliance:
- Adhere to all safety protocols and maintain a clean and organized work environment.
- Ensure compliance with industry regulations and company policies.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent; technical degree or certification in plastics technology preferred.
- Proven experience in injection molding processes and machinery.
- Strong understanding of mold design, machine operation, and quality control principles.
- Proficiency in using measurement and inspection tools (e.g., calipers, micrometers).
- Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong communication skills and attention to detail.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to lift and move heavy materials (up to 50 lbs).
- Willingness to work in a manufacturing environment with varying temperatures and noise levels.
