Job Description

The individual will be responsible for cleaning hospital rooms, primarily focusing on discharges, where rooms need to be sanitized between patients. The role involves extensive walking, so candidates must be comfortable being on their feet all day. Responsibilities include wiping down equipment, emptying trash, sweeping floors, dusting, cleaning up spills, mopping, and sanitizing surfaces. Multiple floors require attention to detail. Employees will use iPhones issued by the hospital to receive assignments and work orders for the day. Tutorials are available via iPhones for guidance. The hospital is large, and employees must learn the floor plan within a reasonable time.

Responsibilities

• Clean hospital rooms, focusing on discharges.
• Wipe down equipment and surfaces.
• Empty trash, sweep floors, and dust.
• Clean up spills, mop, and sanitize surfaces.
• Learn and navigate the hospital's floor plan.
• Use iPhones for assignments and tutorials.

Essential Skills

• Experience working with smartphone technology.
• Ability to walk and stand for extended periods.
• Attention to detail.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs unassisted.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Previous experience in janitorial work, preferably in healthcare.
• GED/diploma preferred.
• Willingness to transition to healthcare if from another industry.
• Adaptability to fast-paced and potentially jarring work environments.

Work Environment

Very fast-paced. The hospital is a #1 trauma center, so employees may encounter jarring situations. Patience is required as there may be a delay in receiving a badge. Employees must work a rotating schedule, including every other weekend and major holidays.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $17.00 - $17.00
