Position Overview:
We are seeking a compassionate, dedicated, and experienced Teacher of the Visually Impaired (TVI) to join our dynamic team in Minnesota. As a TVI, you will play a crucial role in providing high-quality instruction to students with visual impairments. You will be responsible for developing individualized educational plans, adapting instructional materials, and supporting students in their academic, social, and emotional development. You will provide 10 indirect services and 30 direct services 4x a year. This position offers an exciting opportunity to make a lasting impact in the lives of students with visual impairments and their families.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide direct and indirect services to students with visual impairments across various grade levels.
  • Assess students' visual, academic, and functional needs to develop appropriate educational goals and accommodations.
  • Adapt and modify instructional materials and resources to meet the individual needs of students.
  • Collaborate with classroom teachers, special education staff, and other professionals to ensure an inclusive learning environment.
  • Teach students the use of assistive technologies, braille, and other tools to support independent learning.
  • Participate in Individualized Education Program (IEP) meetings and provide input on goals and progress.
  • Provide training and support to teachers, staff, and families on strategies for working with students with visual impairments.

Qualifications:

  • Master's degree in Education for Visually Impaired Students
  • MN Teaching Certification in Visual Education
    • Can have a teaching degree with an endorsement or separate certification
  • Strong knowledge of braille, assistive technology, and Independent Living Strategies
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.
  • Passion for working with students with disabilities and helping them achieve their full potential.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience teaching students with visual impairments in a variety of educational settings.
  • Experience providing virtual services
  • Familiarity with the latest technology and tools for visually impaired students, including screen readers, magnification software, and braille devices.

Salary and Benefits:
