Job Description:

• Configure, troubleshoot, and maintain pharmacy information systems (e.g., prescription management software, electronic health records, and inventory systems).
• Assist in implementing and upgrading pharmacy IT solutions, ensuring minimal disruption to workflows.
• Train pharmacy staff on the proper use of IT systems, emphasizing best practices for accuracy and efficiency.
• Monitor system performance, resolve technical issues, and escalate complex problems to the IT department when necessary.
• Ensure data integrity and maintain secure, HIPAA-compliant practices for patient information.

Must Have's:  
1) Certified Pharmacy Technician
2) IT Experience with any EHR (Cerner, Epic, Medhost, Meditech, etc.)
3) Knowledge of Microsoft Office
4)  Self-Initiator & Works well with teams
5) Accurate and attention to details
6) Hospital experience

Plus: Emergency Department experience a plus

Collaboration and Communication:

• Serve as a liaison between the pharmacy department and IT support teams.
• Collaborate with pharmacists to streamline workflows and optimize the use of technology in the pharmacy setting.
• Participate in quality assurance initiatives, identifying opportunities to enhance system functionality and patient safety.
• Document and communicate technical processes and solutions clearly to pharmacy staff and IT professionals.

Certification:

• Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) credential through PTCB or NHA.
• Additional IT certifications (e.g., CompTIA, Cisco, or Microsoft certifications) are a plus.

Experience:

• Proven experience working as a Pharmacy Technician in a retail or hospital setting.
• Familiarity with pharmacy management systems and IT applications in healthcare.
• Experience troubleshooting hardware/software issues in a professional environment.

Skills:

• Strong knowledge of pharmacy operations, including medication inventory management and prescription processing.
• Proficiency in IT systems, with a focus on healthcare-related software.
• Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills to diagnose and resolve technical issues.
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills for working with diverse teams.
• Attention to detail and strong organizational skills to manage complex systems and workflows.
