Description:
This contract position is ideal for a highly skilled and experienced Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) looking to join a fast-paced, high-volume surgical environment. The position requires candidates to have at least two years of experience as a surgical technologist, with a strong background in a Level I academic medical center setting. As a CST, you will play a crucial role in ensuring that surgical procedures are carried out smoothly by assisting surgeons, managing instruments, and maintaining a sterile environment in the operating room.

The role involves a variable day and night shift rotation, as well as call shifts on a 4-week cycle. Weekend shifts are included, and you must be flexible to rotate between day and night shifts as needed based on the unit's requirements. The ability to manage rotating shifts and work during weekends is essential. A strong work ethic, attention to detail, and adaptability are key to succeed in this role.

Required Qualifications:

  • At least 2 years of surgical tech experience in a Level I academic medical center
  • CST (Certified Surgical Technologist) certification required
  • Ability to work in a dynamic and high-pressure environment
  • Strong experience in handling a wide variety of surgical cases across specialties
  • Availability to work rotational shifts, including weekends and holidays as needed

  • Flexibility in responding to changing schedules and surgical needs

Job Requirements:

  • Must be able to work as part of a collaborative team, assisting surgeons and other medical staff in maintaining a sterile field
  • Proficient in sterilization techniques and managing surgical instruments
  • Strong knowledge of surgical procedures and patient safety protocols
  • Ability to adapt to varying surgical needs and participate in emergency or unscheduled surgeries
  • Must demonstrate the ability to work well under pressure and maintain high levels of accuracy and focus during procedures
  • Call and weekend shifts required based on the surgical schedule and unit's needs
