Job Description
The Research and Development Operator will operate, clean, disassemble, and reassemble equipment such as blending, granulation, compression, and coating machinery in accordance with applicable cGMPs and SOPs. This role involves rotating between Pilot Plant and Manufacturing departments based on business needs.
Responsibilities- Proficiently operate, disassemble, assemble, and clean equipment.
- Operate, disassemble, assemble, and clean equipment in other departments proficiently.
- Perform routine housekeeping assignments and maintain cleanliness and routine maintenance of the work area and equipment.
- Use a computer to read, review, and train on SOPs.
- Review current SOPs and provide feedback on potential process improvements.
- Participate in work scheduling and handle computer transactions/metrics for the department.
- Record operating data within batch records in accordance with cGDPs.
- Review and record completed production documentation (batch records, logbooks, etc.) for quality and cGMP compliance.
- Troubleshoot production processes and notify applicable parties for assistance.
- Recognize and report manufacturing incidents. Support investigations and CAPAs when required.
- Build productive, trusting, and respectful relationships at all levels in the organization and consistently act as a team player.
- Collaborate effectively and communicate with other functional groups, including quality, validation, and supply chain, to ensure production goals are achieved.
- Follow Safety, Health, and Environmental policies and procedures.
- Maintain confidentiality for all clients and activities in the development process.
- Perform other duties as assigned or as business needs require.
- Work independently with minimal supervision or in a group setting.
- Proficiency in operating, disassembling, assembling, and cleaning machinery related to blending, granulation, compression, and coating.
- Experience with cGMPs and SOPs.
- Ability to record and review operating data and production documentation accurately.
- Knowledge of troubleshooting production processes.
- Strong communication and collaborative skills.
- Experience working in a pharmaceutical, chemical, biochemical, or food manufacturing environment.
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Equivalent education, training, and experience considered.
- 2+ years working within an industrial or manufacturing environment preferred.
This position operates on the 1st Shift, Monday to Friday, from 7am to 3:30pm. The dress code is business casual, but employees are expected to gown up daily and wear PPE. The role requires the ability to lift up to 40 lbs. and occasionally move drums weighing up to 300 lbs. Regular activities include standing, walking, sitting, using hands, reaching, talking, hearing, and maintaining good vision. Employees may need to climb ladders, bend, stoop, and kneel. Personal Protection Equipment, including N95 respirators and Powered Air Purifying Respirators, may be required. Candidates should not be allergic to chemicals or bio-substances found in laboratory or production facilities.
