Responsibilities :

  • As the Assistant Controller, you will play a key role in maintaining the accuracy and reliability of financial operations.

  • Reporting directly to the Controller, you will support the finance team by participating in the daily management of the company's working capital, financial reporting, and internal controls.

  • This position also involves supervising and guiding accounting staff, fostering a supportive and high-performing team culture.

  • Assist in preparing accurate and timely financial reports, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements.

  • Ensure adherence to generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP) and regulatory requirements.

  • Collaborate with the Controller in managing the day-to-day working capital needs, including cash disbursements, applications, and treasury functions.

  • Support the month-end and year-end close processes, ensuring precision and efficiency.

  • Perform detailed analyses and reconciliations of various general ledger accounts.

  • Develop and monitor internal controls to safeguard company assets and uphold financial integrity.

  • Conduct regular reviews to identify weaknesses in controls and recommend improvements.

  • Act as a primary contact for internal and external audits, providing necessary documentation and support.

  • Address audit findings and assist in implementing corrective measures.

  • Aid in the preparation of tax filings, ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local tax laws.

  • Contribute to financial strategy development to support business growth.

  • Lead and mentor accounting staff, encouraging collaboration and continuous improvement.

  • Provide training and guidance to support the professional development of team members.

Qualifications :

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in accounting or finance.

  • CPA designation is preferred.

  • Public accounting experience is advantageous.

  • Strong knowledge of accounting standards and financial reporting.

  • Excellent technical, analytical, communication, and presentation skills.

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.

  • Familiarity with accounting software and ERP systems (Vista preferred).
