General Education Teaching Assistant / After School Aide

Position Title: General Education Teaching Assistant / After School Aide
Start Date: September 9, 2024
End Date: June 18, 2025
Location:Tenafly, NJ

Schedule:

  • Daily Start Time: Monday through Friday, 3:10 PM
  • Scheduled Early Release Days: 12:35 PM on select days each month
  • Daily End Time: 6:00 PM
  • Days Needed Per Week: Monday through Friday
Job Summary:

We are seeking a dedicated and passionate General Education Teaching Assistant / After School Aide to support a student in our program. The ideal candidate will have experience with Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) and Holistic Wellness Coaching (HWC). This role is crucial for facilitating a smooth transition for the student from classroom activities to after-school programming and ensuring a positive and engaging experience throughout the day.

Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Assist the student in transitioning from their classroom at 3:10 PM to designated areas (classroom or gym) for after-school activities.
  • Provide guidance and supervision during activities, both individually and in group settings, fostering social interactions.
  • Support the student during playground time, ensuring a safe and inclusive environment.
  • Help the student with daily snacks, including preparation and management of sensory stimulations.
  • Assist with any necessary bathroom needs to promote independence and fort.
  • Collaborate with staff and peers to facilitate positive interactions and support the students social skills.
  • Potentially assist the ABA therapist as designated by the family (pending confirmation).
Qualifications:
  • Experience with ABA and HWC is required.
  • Previous experience working with children in an educational or therapeutic setting preferred.
  • Strong munication and interpersonal skills to engage effectively with students, staff, and families.
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a team and adapt to the students changing needs.
