LPN - Cardio Knox

As a LPN in the Cardiology department, you will assist the provider throughout the clinic with a variety of duties. Your primary focus will be serving patients over the phone with prescription verification and appointment follow-ups. Additionally, you will occasionally handle scheduling and prepare and maintain patient charts. This includes managing insurance, registration, correspondence, laboratory and radiology reports, and tracking and requesting patient records, slides, and films. You will also be responsible for scheduling and coordinating appointments, scans, and tests, as well as confirming appointments and notifying appropriate departments of patient schedules.
Responsibilities- Serve patients over the phone with prescription verification and appointment follow-up
- Occasionally handle scheduling
- Prepare and maintain patient charts, including insurance, registration, correspondence, laboratory and radiology reports
- Track and request patient records, slides, and films, and document as necessary in the charts
- Schedule and coordinate appointments, scans, and tests; confirm appointments
- Notify appropriate departments of daily and weekly patient schedules
- Receive incoming calls to assist patients, physicians, and others with patient-related matters
- Relay diagnostic test results to patients per physician's discretion
- Conduct follow-up phone calls to patients with issues and 'no-shows'
- Perform blood pressure, temperature, pulse, and weight checks on each patient
- Alert physician of any abnormalities
- Perform medical history intake on each patient prior to being seen by the physician
- Maintain medical supplies in each exam room and office supplies in the clerical area
- LPN license
- BLS Certified
- Experience with triage nursing
- Experience as a phone nurse
- Knowledge of medical records
- Experience with telehealth
