High School Special Education Co-Teacher (Full-Time)
Location: Houston, TX
Position Type: Full-Time (37.5 hours per week)
Pay: Starting at $36/hour for qualified candidates
Interviews: Conducted Monday through Friday at 3:30 PM CST
We are seeking a dedicated and collaborative High School Special Education Co-Teacher to join our team in Houston, Texas. This is a full-time position that offers the opportunity to make a meaningful impact in the lives of students with diverse learning needs.
About the Role:
As a Special Education Co-Teacher, you will work alongside an additional co-teacher and general education teachers to provide instruction, accommodations, and support for high school students with Individualized Education Programs (IEPs). The goal is to create an inclusive learning environment that fosters academic growth and personal development.
Key Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with an additional co-teacher and general education teachers to co-plan and deliver instruction that aligns with IEP goals.
- Implement accommodations and modifications to support students with diverse learning needs.
- Monitor and document student progress toward IEP goals, providing feedback to students, parents, and the IEP team.
- Participate in IEP meetings and contribute to the development of effective, student-centered plans.
- Build positive relationships with students, fostering a supportive and inclusive classroom environment.
- Maintain compliance with all special education laws and district policies.
Requirements:
- Valid Special Education Teaching Certificate is required.
- Previous experience as a co-teacher or working in special education is a plus.
- Strong collaboration and communication skills.
- Ability to adapt instruction to meet diverse student needs.
- A passion for empowering students to reach their full potential.
