Summary: Ensure the highest level of quality and nuclear safety through oversight of Contractor activities.

Job Requirements:

• Experience in quality control of mechanical equipment for the nuclear sector
• Familiarity with industrial processes involved in manufacturing heavy steel vessels
• Knowledge of non-destructive examination techniques such as ultrasonic testing, radiographic testing, and liquid penetrant testing
• Experience in pressure testing and leak tightness testing
• Willingness to travel domestically for inspections at Contractor sub-vendor locations
• Ability to work flexible shifts, including weekends

Preferred Skills:

• Mechanical Engineering degree or equivalent experience
• Strong interest in manufacturing processes of mechanical equipment for nuclear power plants
• Ability to draft concise reports with factual conclusions
• Reliable and motivated with strong communication skills
• Pragmatic and diplomatic approach to collaboration
• Ability to work under stress and meet deadlines

Job Responsibilities:

• Ensure quality control and monitoring of fabrication activities performed by the Contractor and sub-vendors
• Oversee fabrication progress and witness predefined quality control checks
• Sign inspection and test plans for witnessed operations
• Review fabrication reports issued by the Contractor and report on quality and progress weekly
• Immediately report important quality and progress deviations to project management teams
• Collaborate with the Contractor in an open and constructive dialogue
• Perform autonomous quality control of mechanical equipment for the nuclear sector
• Work in a shift regime and be available for weekend work as required

Pay Details: $40.00 to $60.00 per hour
