Summary: Ensure the highest level of quality and nuclear safety through oversight of Contractor activities.
Job Requirements:
- Experience in quality control of mechanical equipment for the nuclear sector
- Familiarity with industrial processes involved in manufacturing heavy steel vessels
- Knowledge of non-destructive examination techniques such as ultrasonic testing, radiographic testing, and liquid penetrant testing
- Experience in pressure testing and leak tightness testing
- Willingness to travel domestically for inspections at Contractor sub-vendor locations
- Ability to work flexible shifts, including weekends
Preferred Skills:
- Mechanical Engineering degree or equivalent experience
- Strong interest in manufacturing processes of mechanical equipment for nuclear power plants
- Ability to draft concise reports with factual conclusions
- Reliable and motivated with strong communication skills
- Pragmatic and diplomatic approach to collaboration
- Ability to work under stress and meet deadlines
Job Responsibilities:
- Ensure quality control and monitoring of fabrication activities performed by the Contractor and sub-vendors
- Oversee fabrication progress and witness predefined quality control checks
- Sign inspection and test plans for witnessed operations
- Review fabrication reports issued by the Contractor and report on quality and progress weekly
- Immediately report important quality and progress deviations to project management teams
- Collaborate with the Contractor in an open and constructive dialogue
- Perform autonomous quality control of mechanical equipment for the nuclear sector
- Work in a shift regime and be available for weekend work as required
Pay Details: $40.00 to $60.00 per hour
