Job Overview:

• Position: School Social Worker

Main Responsibilities:

• Assess and address students' emotional, social, and behavioral needs through comprehensive evaluations.
• Collaborate with special education teams to design and implement individualized educational plans (IEPs).
• Develop and apply Functional Behavioral Assessments (FBAs) to encourage positive student behaviors and academic engagement.
• Provide essential counseling and mental health support, helping students develop coping strategies.
• Take the lead in managing crises, ensuring a safe and supportive school environment for all students.
• Serve as a resource for students, parents, and school staff to create a comprehensive support network aimed at student success.

Required Qualifications:

• Masters degree in Social Work, Counseling, or a related discipline.
• Michigan School Social Worker certification (or the ability to obtain one).
• Experience working in a school setting is preferred but not mandatory.
• In-depth knowledge of special education policies and student support services is highly beneficial.
