Job DescriptionJob DescriptionJob Title: Pre-Press Assistant

Job Description

As a Pre-Press Assistant, you will oversee the ordering of all inks, bases, and additives, order and maintain die mounting parts, and clean and prepare dies, plates, and parts. You will be responsible for mounting and repairing printing plates to maintain the production schedule, staging printing plates and samples for production runs, and changing, staging, and preparing printing plates for machinery. Additionally, you will manage incoming print plates by staging and entering them into the system, operate a forklift to retrieve materials from inventory, and prepare FO jackets with load tags, print cards, and FO's. You will also conduct ink inventories, prepare ink orders for runs, and maintain colors for the matching process. You will maintain control over all systems and procedures for handling internal print plates, cutting dies, and inks, and oversee all activities related to the inventory and maintenance of the prepress area.

Responsibilities
  • Oversee the ordering of all inks, bases, and additives
  • Order and maintain die mounting parts
  • Clean and prepare dies, plates, and parts
  • Mount and repair printing plates to maintain production schedule
  • Stage printing plates and samples for production runs
  • Change, stage, and prepare printing plates for machinery
  • Manage incoming print plates by staging and entering them into the system
  • Operate a forklift to retrieve materials from inventory
  • Prepare FO jackets with load tags, print cards, and FO's
  • Conduct ink inventories and prepare ink orders for runs

Work Environment

This is an extremely automated work environment with a laid-back culture that emphasizes quality. The role requires wearing steel toe boots and the attire is jeans or work pants and a shirt. Safety glasses are provided. The position is for the 2nd shift from 2 PM to 10 PM.
