Description:

We are looking for: someone who has 5+ years of experience in technical roles related to plastic extrusion, more specifically blown film extrusion OR sheet extrusion thermoforming. If that experience is in Polypropylene (PP) and polyethylene (PE), that would be a big plus. The person’s experience should be focused on product development or customer technical support. We are looking for a candidate that has intimate knowledge of those plastic processing methods, in terms of understanding: -The key process parameters, how to fine tune each of them and troubleshoot/optimize production -The polymer grades used, how they affect final properties and processability and how to select grades and design final products (films or thermoformed parts)-The additives and other ingredients used during production, improvements they bring

JOB RESPONSIBILITIESSupport regional sales and marketing functionsBe an active member of our Global technical community by sharing learnings and solving problems togetherTranslate customer needs into problem statementsDevelop and supervise lab experiments to find potential solutions to identified problemsAssist customers with product and process related questions and lead plant trials at their locationsHelp assess the customer value generated by our solutions and prioritize work with the sales teamWork in partnership with the R&D team to deploy new offerings at customersHelp to populate the innovation pipeline through market knowledge and insightsStudy and stay abreast of new thermoplastic polymers, additives, and applicationsManage projects and present project status reports to upper managementStudy the effects of additives on a polymer’s chemical/physical properties and on processingTravel as projects and assignments dictate, up to 30% of time.QUALIFICATIONS - REQUIREDB.S or M.S degree in Engineering, Materials Science or Polymer Science (or another related technical field)5 years of professional experience in a customer (external or internal) support role, preferably in polyolefins (production, compounding, conversion, or in additives/masterbatches for those)Ability to manage a variety of projects simultaneouslyHigh mechanical aptitude The successful candidate will have the following strengths:Accountability, ownership, and drive to achieve deliverables, taking initiative to get things doneCapability of influencing an internal or external audience through expertise in a subjectSkill in statistical and data analysis (Excel, JMP, PowerBI or similar tools)Skill in presentation and written communicationCritical thinking; capability to formulate hypotheses for problems and develop a work planAbility to work independently and in a cross-functional team environment
