Sr. Accountant

Our trusted client is seeking an Interim Senior Accountant for a long-term engagement in the Hi-Tech Engineering industry. This role includes a variety of accounting responsibilities and will play a pivotal role in supporting the month and year-end close process. This hybrid role is located in Ann Arbor Michigan and will report directly to the Assistant Controller.

The day-to-day responsibilities includes:

• Oversee and manage sales revenue, cash, prepaids, fixed assets, accruals, accounts payable, leases, investments, and stock compensation.

• Assist and support the month and year-end close process, including the preparation of workpapers, analysis, account reconciliations, and journal entries.

• Respond to internal or external reporting/ad-hoc requests as needed and address audit requests, including internal SOX compliance, external, and 401K.

• Adhere to the goals and policies outlined in the company's Code of Business Conduct and Ethics.

The ideal candidate will have the following skill set:

• Possess a minimum of 5 years of experience in a senior accountant role or similar position

• Hold a deep understanding and proficiency in account reconciliation, balance sheet reconciliation, and bank reconciliations

• Demonstrate expertise in handling general ledger and journal entries

• Proficient in Microsoft Excel

• Experienced in performing month-end close activities

• Familiarity with NetSuite, Oracle, and SAP software

• Proven ability to work in a fast-paced, high-tech engineering environment

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or similar field

• CPA certification is preferred but not required

• Demonstrated ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
