Job DescriptionJob DescriptionWe are offering a contract to hire employment opportunity for a Bookkeeper to join our team in the insurance industry, based in Oriskany, New York. In this role, you will be responsible for managing financial records, processing transactions, and ensuring financial compliance.

Responsibilities:
• Accurately record financial transactions and journal entries.
• Carry out routine checks and balances to maintain financial accuracy.
• Prepare and manage bank reconciliations.
• Maintain accounts payable and accounts receivable.
• Oversee the preparation of payroll activities.
• Ensure efficient data entry and record-keeping processes.
• Perform month-end closing activities.
• Utilize Microsoft Excel for data management and reporting.
• Handle customer inquiries related to financial transactions.
• Draw checks and manage check runs.• Proven experience in a similar Bookkeeper role within the Insurance industry
• Proficiency in Account Reconciliation, Accounts Payable (AP), and Accounts Receivable (AR)
• Familiarity with Bank Reconciliations and Bookkeeping procedures
• Demonstrated ability in Data Entry
• Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel
• Experience with Month End Close procedures
• Knowledge of Payroll processing
• Commitment to maintaining confidentiality of sensitive financial information
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to multitask and prioritize workload effectively
• Possession of a relevant professional certification would be advantageous.
