Job DescriptionJob DescriptionWe are seeking a Payroll Clerk to join our team in Chesapeake, Virginia, in the business services industry. This role offers a long-term contract employment opportunity. As a Payroll Clerk, you will be responsible for processing payroll, maintaining accurate records, and handling payroll-related inquiries.

Responsibilities:
• Accurately process payroll using ADP Workforce Now and accounting software systems
• Verify and apply codes within ADP to ensure correct payroll processing
• Manage multi-state payroll for over 500 employees, ensuring compliance with state laws and regulations
• Handle payroll garnishments and reconcile payroll discrepancies effectively
• Onboard new employees and administer benefits, ensuring smooth integration into the company
• Generate HR reports as needed, providing key insights into employee data
• Maintain accurate customer credit records and monitor customer accounts
• Use Microsoft Excel to organize and analyze payroll data
• Resolve customer inquiries related to payroll and benefits in a timely and detail oriented manner.• Minimum of 2 years of experience in a Payroll Clerk position or similar role
• Proficiency in using Accounting Software Systems
• Familiarity with ADP - Payroll
• Experience in managing Multi-state Payroll
• Ability to handle Payroll for over 500 Employees
• Expertise in Payroll - Garnishments
• Skill in Reconciling Payroll
• Proficiency in Processing Payroll
• Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise extreme discretion
• Excellent problem-solving and communication skills
• High level of accuracy and attention to detail
• Strong numerical skills and an ability to spot numerical errors
• Outstanding organizational and time management skills
• Ability to handle and prioritize multiple tasks.
