Job Description

In this job it is your role to prepare the bay's prior to painting. You will get a work order with the parts or materials that need to be prepped. This job will entail the hanging of parts, masking surfaces or plugging holes for areas that cannot be painted. Most parts will need to be washed or wiped down prior as well. The use of an air nozzle to blow the dust off or clean may also be necessary.

Responsibilities
  • Prepare bays prior to painting.
  • Review work orders for parts or materials that need to be prepped.
  • Hang parts, mask surfaces, or plug holes for areas that cannot be painted.
  • Wash or wipe down most parts before painting.
  • Use an air nozzle to blow off dust or clean parts.

Work Environment

This is an industrial coating facility that applies coatings in different settings, including spray and electrostatic painting. Some areas of the plant have a batch oven, which can make it quite warm during the summer. The smell of paint is present but not strong. The dress code includes jeans, steel-toe shoes, and a t-shirt or sweatshirt. Shift hours for the 1st shift are from 6:00am to 2:30pm. 2nd shift is 2:30pm - 11:00pm
