We are currently searching for a Land Surveyor to take a leadership role within an established engineering firm in northern California. This Land Surveyor will be responsible for business development as well as the management of survey projects in collaboration with Project Managers.


If you currently do not have your Land Surveyor license, the company will support you in obtaining it.


Land Surveyor Responsibilities:

  • Manage survey projects for public and private sector clients, as well as internal customers
  • Provide quality control and quality assurance of all Survey deliverables
  • Collaborate across departments and offices to ensure accurate, timely, and cost-effective execution of any Survey deliverables
  • Develop project scope, budgets, and schedules for multi-discipline projects
  • Active participation in marketing efforts to develop new project work
  • Engage in local professional organizations, community groups, public works organizations as a representative of the organization
  • Train and mentor junior team members


Land Surveyor Requirements:

  • CFedS certification desirable
  • Bachelor’s degree desirable
  • Valid CA Drivers License
  • 5+ years of licensed surveying experience across multiple disciplines, ideally including boundary and title experience 
  • Expertise with AutoCAD Civil 3D and Trimble software
  • Experience with various survey techniques, including but not limited to UAV, GIS, Robotics Total Stations
  • Experience engaging prospective clients (professional services firms, public works, etc) in business development efforts is highly desirable


Land Surveyor Benefits:

  • PLS Base salary of $95-135K depending on number of years post-PLS
  • LSIT salary $85 - 95k
  • Party Chief $75 - 85k
