TEKsystems is seeking a Communications Security (COMSEC) Specialist/COMSEC Responsible Officer (CRO) to support the United States Air Force’s 53rd Wing Technical Support Services (53rd WTSS) contract. This contract supports the 53rd Wing and 96th Test Wing, both headquartered at Eglin AFB, FL and having units CONUS-wide. The 53 WG is the focal point for the Combat Air Forces in electronic warfare and is responsible for operational test and evaluation of advanced equipment and systems. The 96 TW is the USAF’s test and evaluation center for advanced air-delivered weapons, navigation and guidance systems, and C2 systems. The 53rd WTSS team partners with military and civilian personnel to provide world-class IT technical support for the 53 WG and 96 TW missions. The 53rd WTSS IT support covers full lifecycle IT from concept, to deployment, day-to-day operations / maintenance, and culminating in system retirement / replacement / upgrade.
Both Wings are headquartered at Eglin AFB, FL, adjacent to the white-sand beaches and crystal-clear waters of Northwest Florida’s Emerald Coast.
Job Description
The successful candidate will support the 53rd Computer Systems Squadron (53 CSS), a 53 WG unit. The 53 CSS provides communications and information systems for the 53 Wing’s four groups. It automates, sustains, and operates wing communications and information systems activities including unclassified, collateral, and advanced program local area networks. It operates the Combat Air Force Network Operations Center providing classified information services to the CAF worldwide. The 53 CSS provides network capability to fuse data from multiple test facilities into one coherent picture and it develops and maintains the computer systems supporting the development, test, and dissemination of electronic warfare mission data. The 53 CSS also provides advanced programs audiovisual support and operates and maintains a state-of-the-art video-teleconferencing capability.
The successful candidate will apply his or her experience with, and knowledge of, COMSEC management to serve as a COMSEC account manager/CRO prime responsibility is to interact with Customers and internal program managers to meet COMSEC requirements in support of program activities.
Typical Duties
Ordering keys, keying devices, updating devices in the field.
Maintain 100% accountability for COMSEC material.
Operate and maintain key distribution hardware/software/peripherals.
Generate and issue key material for field representative’s key requirements.
Perform all necessary backups, system updates, reconciliations, and inventories IAW applicable COMSEC instructions.
Prepare Emergency Action Plans (EAP) and participate in EAP training.
Use and maintain common fill devices (e.g., SKL, SDS).
Prepare and ship material IAW with COMSEC instructions.
Execute work center duties/activities.
Manage the overall COMSEC posture of the Wing or Installation COMSEC program.
Ensure installation compliance with COMSEC requirements by conducting self-assessments, audits, and inventory user held Accounting Legend Codes (ALC)-1, ALC-2, and ALC-4 for physical material, and ALC-6 and ALC-7 EKMS holdings.
Oversee the CAP and provides written local procedures to all unit CAP administrators. Uses CMS to manage Installation/ Base’s CAP.
Conduct annual account verifications in the CMS to ensure information is current.
Complete required training courses as mandated by NSA and other agencies.
Conduct mandatory government requests for cryptographic software and equipment upgrades.
Receipt, transfer, provide accountability, safeguard, and destroy COMSEC material.
Maintain and coordinate future KEYMAT in support of all programs with the proper short title as needed depending on the crypto period.
Maintain COMSEC accounting and related records in accordance with governmental regulations.
Investigate, prepare and submit COMSEC incident reports to multiple cognizant security authorities.
Conduct semi-annual physical inventory of all COMSEC material and CCI; ensure company compliance.
Work closely with program personnel and asset management to requisition CCI material.
Perform initial and refresher COMSEC and Crypto briefings and employee training on processes and procedures.
Support for COMSEC inspections and Staff Assistance Visits.
Perform duties as the Crypto Network Manager.

Required Education and Experience:
A minimum of 3 years of practical hands-on experience and/or relevant education applying AFMAN 17-1302, the CNSSI manuals 4001, 4003, 4005, and information technology solutions, and providing customer support and services.
Required Skills:
Experience with Key Management Infrastructure (KMI) for COMSEC key management, accounting and distribution. Specifically, using KMI to generate and distribute electronic keying material for NSA approved encryption systems.
Working knowledge of multiple key loading devices (e.g. SKL, DTD, RASKL), STE and ViPer phones.
Working knowledge of AFMAN 17-1302l, MPTO 00-33B-5001(Converted AFKAG-2), CNSSI manuals 4001, 4003, 4005, and AFMAN 23-122.
