Job Title: Medical Technologist
Location: Pottstown, PA
Position Type: Full-time, Night Shift
Hours: 10:30 PM - 7:00 AM (with every other weekend and holiday rotation required)

Overview:

We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Medical Technologist to join our team in Pottstown, Pennsylvania. As a key member of our laboratory team, you will perform a range of moderate and high-complexity clinical laboratory tests, assisting in the diagnosis and treatment of diseases. This full-time position requires a highly organized individual with strong analytical skills to ensure the accuracy of test results, troubleshoot equipment and testing problems, and maintain quality control and preventive maintenance practices.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform a wide range of moderate and high-complexity clinical laboratory assays in areas such as Blood Bank, Chemistry, Hematology, Microbiology, Urinalysis, Coagulation, and RIA/Serology.
  • Troubleshoot equipment or testing issues to ensure proper functionality and accurate results.
  • Perform and review quality control procedures and preventive maintenance to ensure compliance with established standards.
  • Interpret and report test results accurately to assist physicians in diagnosis and treatment decisions.
  • Follow established protocols and procedures under the supervision of a laboratory supervisor.
  • Ensure the validity of test results by evaluating the accuracy and reliability of laboratory findings.
  • Document and report test results in a timely manner.
  • Participate in continuous education and training to stay up-to-date with laboratory best practices and procedures.
  • Participate in the laboratory's routine quality assurance and safety activities.

Qualifications:

Education Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Medical Technology, Clinical Laboratory Science, or a related field.

Experience:

  • 2+ years of experience as a Medical Technologist preferred, with experience in Blood Bank, Chemistry Lab, and Hematology.

Skills and Abilities:

  • Strong understanding of clinical laboratory procedures and techniques.
  • Ability to interpret complex test results accurately.
  • Proficiency with laboratory equipment and troubleshooting techniques.
  • Familiarity with laboratory quality control and safety protocols.
  • Strong attention to detail and excellent organizational skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
  • Good communication skills to interact effectively with colleagues and medical staff.

Compensation:

  • Base Salary: $59,280 to $81,180 annually, depending on experience.
  • Benefits: Full benefits package.
  • Relocation Assistance: Available for the ideal candidate.
  • Bonus/Commission Compensation: Not applicable.
  • Overtime: Not eligible.

Additional Information:

  • Security Clearance: Not required.
