Are you a dedicated Teacher for the Visually Impaired looking for a rewarding career opportunity? ProCare Therapy is partnering with a reputable school district in American Fork, Utah, to bring on an enthusiastic, full-time Teacher for the Visually Impaired (TVI) for the upcoming school year. Located between breathtaking mountains and known for its vibrant, community-oriented feel, American Fork offers the perfect backdrop for a meaningful and impactful career.
Position Overview:
- Employment Type: Full-Time, Monday-Friday, Onsite
- Work Environment: Inclusive, student-centered, and collaborative
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement tailored Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) and 504 plans to address the specific needs of visually impaired students.
- Provide direct and consultative services, adapting learning materials with assistive technology and visual aids.
- Teach essential skills such as Braille, large print, and accessible tools to promote academic independence.
- Instruct students in Orientation and Mobility (O&M) skills for safe and confident navigation in the classroom and outdoors.
- Collaborate with general education teachers and other specialists to support an inclusive classroom experience.
- Maintain effective communication with families and staff, ensuring each student's progress is supported and celebrated.
Requirements:
- Bachelors or Masters degree in Education for the Visually Impaired, Special Education, or related field.
- Valid Utah certification for Teachers of the Visually Impaired (TVI).
- Proficiency in Braille and experience with adaptive technology.
- Strong problem-solving, flexibility, and teamwork skills.
- Background check clearance.
