ProCare Therapy is partnering with a reputable school district in American Fork, Utah, to bring on an enthusiastic, full-time Teacher for the Visually Impaired (TVI) for the upcoming school year. Position Overview:

  • Employment Type: Full-Time, Monday-Friday, Onsite
  • Work Environment: Inclusive, student-centered, and collaborative

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement tailored Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) and 504 plans to address the specific needs of visually impaired students.
  • Provide direct and consultative services, adapting learning materials with assistive technology and visual aids.
  • Teach essential skills such as Braille, large print, and accessible tools to promote academic independence.
  • Instruct students in Orientation and Mobility (O&M) skills for safe and confident navigation in the classroom and outdoors.
  • Collaborate with general education teachers and other specialists to support an inclusive classroom experience.
  • Maintain effective communication with families and staff, ensuring each student's progress is supported and celebrated.

Requirements:

  • Bachelors or Masters degree in Education for the Visually Impaired, Special Education, or related field.
  • Valid Utah certification for Teachers of the Visually Impaired (TVI).
  • Proficiency in Braille and experience with adaptive technology.
  • Strong problem-solving, flexibility, and teamwork skills.
  • Background check clearance.
