Job Opportunity: Special Education Teacher - Autism Specialist

Position: Special Education Teacher (ASD)
Location: Hazel Park, MI
Job Type: Full-time, Contract
Pay Range: $35 - $40 per hour, based on experience

Position Summary:

We are looking for a dedicated Special Education Teacher with a specialization in Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) to support students in Hazel Park, MI. In this role, youll have the opportunity to make a meaningful impact by providing individualized instruction and support to students with ASD.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and deliver tailored IEPs for students on the autism spectrum.
  • Implement effective, research-based strategies and interventions designed for students with ASD.
  • Collaborate with general education teachers, support staff, and families to build comprehensive support systems.
  • Create a supportive, structured learning environment that fosters growth in academic, social, and behavioral skills.
  • Track student progress and adjust learning goals to support each student's unique needs.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelors or Masters degree in Special Education or a related field, with a focus on ASD preferred.
  • Valid Michigan Special Education teaching certification.
  • Previous experience working with students on the autism spectrum is preferred.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills, with a commitment to individualized learning.
