Financial Analyst

LHH is assisting with a search for a Financial Analyst for a client in Kansas City, KS. This is a contract-to-hire position working on-site to start with pay starting at $60k annually and going up based on experience. Our ideal candidate will have at least 1-2 years of financial reporting experience within manufacturing. Read below for additional details

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Prepare weekly and monthly analysis of actual costs versus targets.

  • Identify root causes of variances and participate in efforts to reduce variances.

  • Partner with other plant team members to identify, implement, and measure cost reduction projects.

  • Review and close manufacturing batches working closely with the Operations and Logistics team to ensure that all batch transactions are accurately recorded.

  • Capture and analyze data for weekly reporting on plant and division KPIs. Provide explanations and insights for communication during the weekly performance review with Sr Ops Leadership.

  • Perform ongoing analysis of inventory transactions and accuracy, ensure required approvals for all adjustments, and participate in the physical inventory count process.

  • Prepare journal entries, inventory reserve calculations, account analysis and reconciliation, and internal control documentation for the month-end close process.

  • Assist with the preparation of periodic forecasts and the annual budget process.

  • Participate in costing and manage all costing models and files.

  • Maintain Internal control documentation.

  • Other duties as assigned.

 

REQUIREMENTS/SKILLS:

  • At least 2+ years of financial analysis experience within manufacturing, including understanding of direct labor tracking

  • Intermediate to Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel.

  • Knowledge of an accounting and enterprise resource planning (ERP) system (e.g., Microsoft Dynamics, Oracle, SAP).

  • Strong analytical skills along with attention to detail and accuracy.

  • Self-starter with a passion for continuous improvement.

  • Ability to work effectively under pressure, problem solve and work with limited supervision.

  • Deliver strong performance independently and as a member of multiple teams.

  • Awareness of generally accepted accounting principles.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Pay Details: $60,000.00 to $75,000.00 per year
