Special Education Teacher (Substantially Separate Program)

Location:Canton, MA
Position Type: Full-Time
Grade Levels: Kindergarten - 5th Grade
Program Type: In-Person Only

Job Description:

We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Special Education Teacher to join our team in a substantially separate program for students in grades K-5. The ideal candidate will have a strong mitment to fostering an inclusive and supportive learning environment for students with diverse needs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) tailored to each students unique learning requirements.
  • Create a positive, engaging, and adaptive classroom environment that supports the academic and social-emotional growth of students.
  • Collaborate with general education teachers, specialists, and support staff to ensure a cohesive approach to student learning.
  • Monitor and assess student progress regularly, adjusting instruction as necessary to meet the needs of each student.
  • municate effectively with students, parents, and caregivers to build strong partnerships and ensure transparency regarding student progress.
  • Participate in ongoing professional development and stay current with best practices in special education.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelors degree in Special Education or a related field (Masters preferred).
  • Valid state teaching certification in Special Education.
  • Experience working with students with disabilities in an educational setting (K-5 preferred).
  • Strong interpersonal skills and a collaborative mindset.
  • Ability to create and maintain a structured and nurturing classroom environment.
