Job Opportunity: Bilingual School-Based Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP)

Hours: 37.5 hours per week

Caseload: Early Childhood to Elementary

Location: Near Lockport, IL

Position Overview: We are seeking a talented Bilingual Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) to join our school district near Lockport, IL. This full-time position offers the opportunity to work with a diverse caseload, focusing on early childhood through elementary students who require speech and language support.

Responsibilities:

  • Conduct comprehensive assessments and evaluations to diagnose speech, language, and communication disorders in bilingual students.
  • Develop and implement individualized treatment plans to address students' specific needs and goals, incorporating cultural and linguistic considerations.
  • Provide direct therapy services to students in both English and the target language, focusing on speech articulation, language comprehension, fluency, and social communication skills.
  • Collaborate effectively with teachers, parents, and other professionals to support student progress and integrate therapy goals into the classroom environment.
  • Maintain accurate and organized documentation of therapy sessions, progress reports, and communication with stakeholders.

Qualifications:

  • Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited program.
  • Illinois state licensure or eligibility for licensure.
  • Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC) from ASHA preferred.
  • Bilingual proficiency in English and a second language (Spanish preferred).
  • Experience working with early childhood and elementary-aged students in a school setting.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.
