Position Summary: The Legal Assistant will support the Legal Department under the direction of the Director of Legal/Managing Attorney and Supervisor. Primary responsibilities include document generation, court communications, advanced court docketing/filings, and knowledge of relevant laws and court procedures.


Position Responsibilities:

  • Review accounts for garnishments in CO, WY, NE, and State employment garnishments.
  • Input employer information for garnishment purposes and verify the current registered agent via the Secretary of State (SOS).
  • Generate garnishments for CO, NE, WY, and State employment cases.
  • E-file garnishments (CO/NE).
  • Timely generate, file, and send garnishment releases as needed (CO/NE/WY).
  • Manage various pool queues to support the legal process.
  • Perform clerical support tasks, including document generation and filing using templates.
  • Work on post-judgment NV accounts, including satisfactions, transcripts, and release of liens.
  • Adhere to FDCPA, ACA, FTC, and state compliance guidelines, especially regarding collections and litigation, and participate in ongoing education.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by management.

  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Strong attention to detail and the ability to work quickly and accurately.
  • Proficient computer skills, including Microsoft Outlook and Outlook Calendar.
  • Excellent analytical, organizational, time management, and multitasking abilities.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment while maintaining workflow standards.
  • Maintain a professional appearance, positive attitude, and professional demeanor.
  • Ability to accurately work with and calculate numbers.

Required Education and Experience:

  • High School Diploma or GED required; secondary education preferred.
  • Minimum of two years of experience in a professional office environment.
  • Ability to work a minimum of three days in the office.

  • This position has no direct reports.

Physical Demands and Working Environment:

  • Physical Demands: The employee must occasionally stand, walk, sit, use hands to handle objects or controls, reach with hands and arms, talk, and hear. Lifting or moving items up to 25 pounds may occasionally be required. Specific vision abilities include close vision, distance vision, color vision, and focus adjustment.
  • Working Environment: The noise level in the work environment is generally minimal to moderate.
