Job Description

Join a leading company in the precast concrete industry, producing high-quality products for large construction projects. As a General Laborer, you will be involved in various tasks including bending, pulling rebar, tying rebar, setting forms, and assisting in cleaning duties as needed.

Responsibilities
  • Lean over all day performing bending tasks.
  • Produce columns and panel beds.
  • Pull and tie rebar.
  • Set forms for concrete production.
  • Assist in cleaning and maintaining the work area.
Essential Skills
  • Experience in construction, landscaping, and concrete work.
  • Proficiency in rebar tying, concrete slabs, and finishing.
  • Ability to operate hand tools, power tools, and machinery.
  • Carpentry skills.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
  • Minimum: Ability to lift 70lbs consistently, stand for 10 hours/day, and 6+ months of experience in a hot/heavy work environment.
  • Preferred: 1 year of work in construction, 1 year of experience in concrete (residential or commercial), 6+ months of experience tying rebar, form setting, and concrete finishing.
  • A background in farming or mechanical work is ideal.

Work Environment

The work takes place in a concrete facility that is open on either end, providing some air flow. The environment can be hot in the summer and cold in the winter as it is non-climate controlled. Kilns on one end of the building can add warmth. Work hours are from 5:30am until the job is finished, usually between 2:00pm and 2:30pm, Monday through Friday, with occasional overtime on Saturdays. The dress code requires steel-toed boots, jeans, and short sleeve shirts. Safety glasses, hard hats, and hearing protection are provided. New hires start on Tuesdays with a safety session followed by a facility tour and team assignment.
