The Position:

The Senior Central Procurement Manager will play a pivotal role in leading the centralized procurement operations, focusing on strategic purchasing of drugs and medical supplies across the company. This position is responsible for defining strategic goals, enhancing procurement processes, and managing a team of Central Procurement Specialists to ensure efficient supply chain management and cost optimization. Responsibilities include:

  • Develop, implement, and maintain advanced procurement strategies to align with company-wide financial objectives, set by the Chief Financial Officer
  • Lead, train, and manage a team of Central Procurement Specialists, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and professional development
  • Identify and capitalize on opportunities for savings through the effective use of a centralized procurement model
  • Oversee the purchasing of pharmaceuticals and related medical supplies, ensuring compliance with all regulatory and company standards
  • Develop robust reporting frameworks and tracking tools to analyze procurement trends and outcomes, driving informed decision-making
  • Ensure strict adherence to procurement programs, optimizing financial impact and operational efficiencies
  • Establish clear, measurable objectives for the procurement team to gauge program success and drive accountability in conjunction with Sr. Director of Supply Chain
  • Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with internal stakeholders in Supply Chain and inventory management, as well as external partners and suppliers
  • Oversee resource allocations during supply shortages or excesses, ensuring balanced inventory levels
  • Work closely with data analysts and other departments on cross-functional projects to enhance procurement processes and technologies
Requirements:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Economics, or a related field. Advanced degree preferred
  • At least 8 years of procurement experience, with a minimum of 5 years in a management role within a healthcare or pharmaceutical environment
  • Proven ability to strategize and implement high-level procurement policies and practices
  • Strong leadership skills with experience managing and developing teams
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, capable of working effectively across all levels of the organization
  • Demonstrated ability to drive change and foster innovation within procurement operations
  • Proficiency in data analysis and performance metrics
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks and adapt to a fast-paced, dynamic environment
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to make decisions based on accurate and timely analysis
