Hours: Monday - Thursday 6pm - 4am

Summary: We are looking for a reliable, skilled packaging maintenance mechanic to perform essential
upkeep tasks throughout our food manufacturing facility. In this position, you will be responsible for a wide
variety of activities such as grounds cleaning and general building repairs to ensure our facility is clean,
safe, and functional. Position is full-time and on-site.
Core Responsibilities
(70%) Inspect, test, troubleshoot, repair and install machinery and equipment
(30%) Maintain building through painting, repairing minor structural problems, and other repairs as
necessary
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Assist production team with repair of floor maintenance equipment and warehouse equipment as
  • needed, including but not limited to install, repair, rebuild, adjust and maintain machinery and
  • equipment used in production which may also involve the dismantling, inspection, machining or
  • replacement of purchased parts
  • Maintain a clean and organized work environment (including orderly storage of parts). Perform
  • inventory of tools, parts and materials.
  •  Monitor equipment to detect malfunctions, perform scheduled Preventative Maintenance (PMs) to
  • ensure equipment efficiency.
  • Operate and maintain a variety of mechanical tools and equipment such as power saws, power
  • sanders, drills, air compressors, paint sprayers, and various hand tools required for carpentry,
  • plumbing, and maintenance skills
  • Assist in the replacement of filters in the HVAC equipment
  • Has knowledge of basic electrical principles as they apply to such things as hardware, relays,
  • switches and circuit breakers.
  • Perform all building maintenance – plumbing, carpentry and electric
  • Miscellaneous handyman work
  • Facilitate all inspections for building, including but not limited to, elevator, fire and HVAC
  • Replace fire extinguishers when needed
  • Conduct facility walk through on a regular basis to identify areas where maintenance is required
  • Handles emergency calls for repairs
  • Plan and manage short term and long-term projects
  • Responsible for maintaining electrical equipment in good operating condition
  • Support SQF by maintaining food safety and food quality through completing job tasks and
  • maintaining the work area in a sanitary manner.
  • Follow all safety requirements for lock-out/tag-out, for confined space and tank entry, for handling
  • of hazardous materials, and for wearing of personal protective equipment.
  • Education and/or Experience:
  • Education: High school or equivalent (Required)
  • Bilingual in Spanish is helpful, but not required
  • 3+ years of directly related or closely related general maintenance, grounds-keeping or facility
  • maintenance experience
  • Experience in operation, maintenance and basic repair of HVAC, boilers, heaters, pumps,
  • compressors, gas lines, and water systems
  • Experience with equipment maintenance repairs
