Are you looking for a strong growth opportunity as a Construction Controller? We have partnered with a successful client on their search for a Construction Controller who lead with operational focus and deliver results. The Construction Controller position is a hands-on managerial role brimming with both responsibility and accountability for all direct and indirect financial activities, transactions, and reporting. This sizzling opportunity also includes the identification, implementation, and maintenance of industry-leading practices related to processes and technology across all facets of accounting, finance, and unique operational activities.


Responsibilities:

  • Accurately processing multi-state payroll, with the potential for handling prevailing wages.
  • Managing accounts payable activities, including the handling of 1099s, W-9 verification, and unclaimed property returns.
  • Overseeing timely and accurate quarterly close and upstream reporting for two legal entities.
  • Ensuring accurate and timely cash collection and application through billing and accounts receivables.
  • Handling subcontract and PO management, including insurance and licensing compliance for vendors.
  • Coordinating with external and internal audit processes, including miscellaneous audits from various government agencies.
  • Assisting with HR support and compliance, including wage and hour, I-9s, etc.
  • Overseeing capital requisition and fixed asset management.
  • Preparing and verifying taxes, including Sales & Use Tax and Property Tax Returns.
  • Managing business registration with state agencies, including contractor and design entity registration.

The ideal Construction Controller will have a Bachelor's degree in accounting or related field required.  CPA and/or CMA strongly preferred


Other requirements for the Construction Controller role include and are not limited to:

  • 10 years of Accounting experience, including 3+ years of Controllership or similar role
  • Construction accounting and/or general construction background
  •  Experience with Viewpoint Vista software preferred
  • Highly organized with attention to detail and accuracy 
  • Team player with strong interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills
