Special Education Teacher
Location:Cheshire, CT
Position Type: Full-Time
Caseload: Elementary
Contract Duration: Guaranteed through December, with potential for extension

Job Description:

We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Special Education Teacher to join our team in a self-contained classroom for elementary students. This position offers a unique opportunity to make a significant impact in the lives of 13 students with diverse learning needs. You will be part of a collaborative environment, working alongside two experienced teachers who are mitted to fostering an inclusive and supportive learning atmosphere.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) tailored to each students needs.
  • Collaborate with co-teachers and support staff to create a positive and engaging classroom environment.
  • Utilize a variety of teaching strategies to acmodate diverse learning styles and abilities.
  • Monitor and assess student progress, adjusting instructional methods as necessary.
  • municate effectively with students, parents, and other professionals to support student success.
  • Participate in team meetings and contribute to a positive school culture.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelors degree in Special Education or a related field (Masters preferred).
  • Valid state teaching certification in Special Education.
  • Experience working with elementary students in a special education setting is preferred.
  • Strong munication and interpersonal skills.
  • A mitment to fostering an inclusive and supportive learning environment.
