• Understanding of basic electrical theory, both AC and DC
• Ability to perform basic multimeter functions. Read voltage, check continuity, check resistance.
• Understanding of series and parallel circuits
• Basic understanding of PLC logic
• Basic understanding of relay logic
• Basic understanding of communication networks such as CAN
• Ability to identify basic electrical components and provide explanation of function
• Ability to identify basic components on an NFI electrical schematic
• Computer skills to include Excel, Outlook, Internet browsers
• Ability to learn and perform PC based programming and diagnostics on various systems

QUALIFICATIONS:

EDUCATION:

• High School Education or GED
• Associates degree in automotive discipline, electronics, or equivalent vocational school / job experience combination

EXPERIENCE:

• Automotive or Heavy / commercial truck electrical systems diagnostic experience and mechanical repair experience highly desired.
• Previous experience with PC based diagnostic equipment such as automotive scan tools

TRAINING:

• NFI Basic Electrical
• NFI Schematics
• NFI LOTO

REQUIREMENTS:

PHYSICAL:

• Able to lift and move 50lbs on a regular basis
• Able to wear all required PPE at all times
• Communicate effectively by voice and hearing
• Stand and walk on various surfaces for multiple hours daily
• Climb stairs, ladders, scaffolds and work at heights using fall protection
• Bend, kneel, crouch and crawl in confined spaces
• Work overhead for extended periods of time
• Operate tools and other devices requiring fine dexterity
