Hours: Monday-Friday, 6:30 AM - 3:30 PM
Location: Dallas, TX

As the Logistics & Materials Manager, you'll be responsible for overseeing logistics, purchasing, and the will-call area. You will play a critical role in ensuring the efficient movement of materials and timely delivery, while maintaining the highest standards of safety, organization, and process optimization. Reporting to the Operations Manager, you will manage day-to-day operations and lead the shipping team to meet organizational goals.

Key Responsibilities:Leadership & Safety:
  • Oversee the safety of drivers, shipping, and will-call areas.
  • Supervise the shipping team, including drivers and operators.
  • Communicate status updates on materials, orders, and shipments to leadership and Customer Service Representatives (CSR).
  • Ensure safety and preventative maintenance for vehicles.
  • Maintain the accuracy and organization of shipping documentation and inventory levels.
  • Manage material returns and defective products.
Logistics & Will-Call Operations:
  • Review and manage order fulfillment, ensuring timely and accurate shipments.
  • Schedule daily to weekly shipments, minimizing backorders.
  • Oversee the shipping and tracking of sub-contract items.
  • Ensure all shipments are properly packaged with accurate documentation.
  • Complete customs paperwork for cross-border shipments.
  • Manage local delivery schedules, truck logs, and vehicle maintenance.
Materials Management:
  • Perform monthly inventory counts and cycle counts.
  • Oversee the receipt and unpacking of goods, ensuring documentation matches contents.
  • Ensure goods are accurately entered into the MRP system and properly stocked.
  • Operate equipment like forklifts for organization and stocking.
General Expectations:
  • Maintain clean and organized shipping and will-call areas.
  • Perform local pick-up and delivery tasks as needed.
  • Complete general cleaning and waste removal tasks.
  • Adhere to Health & Safety and Material Handling procedures.
  • Take initiative in continuous improvement, enhancing processes and promoting company values.
Performance Metrics:
  • Safety Improvements: Implement 2 safety improvements per month.
  • Document & Shipment Accuracy: Achieve 99.5% accuracy in shipping and documentation.
  • OTIF Performance: Maintain 98% or higher on-time and in-full (OTIF) delivery rate.
  • Lead Time: Ensure 2-day lead times on "stock" items.
  • Cycle Counts: Complete 10 cycle counts per month in addition to monthly inventory.
Minimum Qualifications:
  • Forklift license or relevant experience.
  • 4+ years of experience in shipping and receiving operations.
  • Proficiency in ERP systems and Microsoft Office Suite.
